MIAMI, MARCH 10, 2020 – Direcly, a multinational leader of technology consulting, today announces hiring Juan Antonio Fernandez Alvarez as General Manager Mexico and Central America. Within this role, Juan will be spearheading new business initiatives in support of Google Cloud and Google Marketing Platform in Mexico and Central America, one of the fastest growing markets with digital sales of 2.24 Billion dollars forecasted for 2020 by eMarketer.
Fernandez will lead direcly’s growth and sales strategy as well as activities related to innovation, operations and direcly’s best-in-class technology. Fernandez will report to Paul Suskey, President and Managing Partner at direcly.

Juan is a B2B brand expert with deep experience building teams, scaling operations, and launching effective, go-to-market strategies. In his previous role, Fernandez positioned Oyo across eight main cities, and supported Oyo’s launch in Mexico and expansion, growing from eight employees to eight hundred in the short span of two years. Since its launch, Oyo has quickly become the world’s third largest and fastest-growing hospitality chain of leased and franchised hotels, with financial backing from Softbank, Sequoia, Airbnb among others.
Fernandez attributes his success to his financial savviness and entrepreneurial background. In his previous role as Head of Operations at Grupo Mexaa, Fernandez was responsible for business plan development, client relations, investment, and financial advisory for his portfolio of clients including IHG, Holiday Inn, and Crown Plaza. In six years, Fernandez opened four properties from design to construction, increased profit margin by 19% year over year, and reduced operating cost.
